Kristin Moore, Founder/Owner of Divaz Boutique and Grand Central Clothing

“Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right” -Henry Ford

Kristin Moore grew up in the beautiful heat of Tucson, Arizona. Her love for fashion started when she was just in high school at Flowing Wells. She had needed an outfit for a Metallica concert she was going to with some of her close friends. She went to a boutique called Merry Go Round and that quickly sparked her interest for fashion. She soon found herself as an employee for the boutique. As this passion grew so did her career, now she is the proud owner of Divaz Boutique and Grand Central Clothing.

Divaz Boutique and Grand Central Clothing are a go to shop for college students as well as a fun place to splurge for Mom. Kristin has opened up a business, where everyone feels welcomed. I had the honor to chat with her over a cup of tea and get to know how she got to be where she is now. What truly stuck out to me about her was her hard work and determination. Surprisingly upon our greeting she shared with me that she caught a bug from her travels (not the cute kind with four legs). Nonetheless, it did not stop her from meeting me for an interview, Kristin has a pride in her profession.

Kristin grew up with her four siblings: Bobbie, Carrie, Jennifer and Lenny. Sadly, Bobby is no longer with them, he passed away on duty as our sheriff her in the Pima County. Kristin values her family and on occasion works beside her sister, Jennifer. I have to share with you guys that when we were having our tea, Jennifer (who was also under the weather) pops in with warm soup for Kristin. The admirable thing about Kristin and her shops is the amount of respect and friendship that is always exchanged.

Kristin gives an honorable mention to the ambitious, Andrea Reiss, who has been working by her side for seventeen years and counting. A person who is “loved by all” Andrea is the managing director for all the store’s locations and a partner at the Tempe Marketplace location.

I’ve had the luxury of visiting her Tucson location, Grand Central Clothing and here is what you will find. A warm welcoming environment, positive-workers, dazzling articles of clothing (that will make you look and feel like a million bucks). Her experience for finding all the right items goes back to searching for her 1st concert outfit. Also traveling abroad, she helped out her dear friend by helping her edit clothing items for her line. Kristin Moore is the definition of loving what you do, doing what you love and most importantly, living your best life.

Andrea Reiss - Managing Partner- Tempe Marketplace

“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing it is stupid.” - Albert Einstein

Andrea grew up in Northern Phoenix, Arizona where she graduated high school from Paradise Valley. She was a member of the schools cheer team and pom line. Thanks to her background in gymnastics, Andrea has gained a good work ethic and strong self discipline. She was a competitive gymnast at Arizona Sunrays from the time she was young. Her favorite event? Her answer, the uneven bars because she loves swinging and being upside down. Andrea can still do back hand springs and back flips, which she once showed everyone at a work Christmas party.

Kristin and Andrea have been working side by side for seventeen years. She started working for Divaz in the summer of 2001. Ever since then she has been helping Kristen shape what Divaz Boutique and Grand Central Clothing is to this day. Andrea shares that she has learned everything in all aspects of life, from coaching to management to merchandising. In 2007, she officially partnered with Kristin and became a managing partner with her. The success doesn’t stop there, she also received her degree in 2005 for psychology.

Her other passions reside in bringing awareness to mental health, which she is a very big advocate for. Andrea is a hard working girl who appreciates where she is in life. With parents that started with little and made something of themselves, Andrea has made a passionate life for herself. A hard worker who has a funny-fun side, I asked her to pick a spirit animal for herself and she goes with a platypus. This made me chuckle, Andrea is more than a Platypus though. She is a loyal hardworking employee who can bring fun into anything.
