Aayush Desai born in Gujarat, India has traveled over 8,000 miles to where he now resides in Tucson, Arizona. Graduated from Catalina Foothills, he is now studying to major in finance at The University of Arizona.

Q:  WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO GAIN FROM YOUR INTERNSHIP AT GRAND CENTRAL CLOTHING?

A: Interning at Grand Central Clothing is a good step and gives me a head start in helping me with the future for other internships and jobs.

Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT LIVING IN INDIA?

A:  My favorite part about living in India was hanging out with my friends/family and playing football/other outdoor activities.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAREER?

A: My dream career is to go into the stock market/investments in Chicago, Illinois because most of my family lives there.

Q: EXAMPLE OF A LIFE EXPERIENCE THAT SHAPED WHO YOU ARE TODAY?

A: Being here alone made me stronger, being here without parents for those four years of high school was a big teach for me.

Q:  IF YOU HAD A MILLION DOLLARS TO DONATE, WHERE WOULD YOU PUT IT?

A: I would definitely donate a million dollars to education and the poorer school districts, that don’t have enough money.

Q :  WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT?

A: El Charro, I went last week and got mole enchiladas.

Q:  IF YOU COULD STAND IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE WORLD, WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO EVERYONE?

A: Think twice before taking any steps or doing anything. Think twice.

Brett Sanuik grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. He attended Desert Vista High School and is now graduated and a student at The University of Arizona. While in high school he participated in a club called Community Counts and there he mentored third grade students.

Q: WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP SO FAR?

A: I enjoy that I have a lot of creative freedom and I get to create things all day.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?

A: I entered a t-shirt design contest for a festival (Dusk) and I won. It was really cool seeing everyone wear my shirt.

Q: IF YOU COULD WORK AT ANY HIGH END BRAND, WHICH WOULD YOU CHOSE?

A: Louis Vuitton or Supreme.

Q: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FOR STYLE?

A: From a lot of street wear, skateboarding, I’m really into what’s trending, graphic design art also interests me a lot.

Q: IF YOU HAD A MILLION DOLLARS TO DONATE, WHERE WOULD YOU PUT IT?

A: Probably Heart to Honduras. They do a lot of work and I’ve been on a lot of mission trips there so I have a connection by what I’ve seen there.

Q:WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY?

A: Going to Disney World with my family. It’s really cool, I like it.

Q: WHERE IS YOUR FAVORITE PLACE TO VACATION?

A: Probably L.A. I have some buddies that live up there. We like to go to hang out at the pier, go to Hollywood, the Supreme Store, Fairfax etc.

A native to Arizona, Samantha has lived in both the Phoenix and Tucson area. A graduate from Catalina Foothills, she is now enrolled at The University of Arizona. She has a twin sister, one older brother and a great passion for music.

Q:WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO GAIN FROM YOUR INTERNSHIP AT GRAND CENTRAL CLOTHING?

A: Honestly, to learn how to document everything and the beginnings to accounting. It’s a different experience than what you’d learn in a classroom.

Q: WHEN IS YOUR BIRTHDAY AND WHAT IS YOUR ZODIAC SIGN?

A: My birthday is March 31st, 1998 and I am an Aries.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR BEAUTY RITUAL?

A: I always take a shower in the morning (wash my hair), do my makeup, brush my teeth and then I go.

Q: IF YOU COULD TELL A STORY THROUGH YOUR CLOTHING, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT IT TO SAY?

A: She likes to be comfortable but also stylish.

Q: WHAT ENVIRONMENT DO YOU THRIVE IN THE MOST?

A: The beach, I like the way the ocean sounds when it crashes and the way it feels.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR IDEAL OUTFIT FOR THE BEACH?

A: My ideal outfit is a sundress and flip flops.

Q: WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT GRAND CENTRAL CLOTHING?

A: The fact that they are very helpful and give lots of hands on experience.

 

 

Clarissa Edwards, Fashion and Design Major, Journalism Intern

Clarissa Edwards, a local of Tucson, is currently enrolled at Pima Community College  and plans to transfer to Arizona State University through their new fashion program. Her biggest dreams are to have her own fashion brand and be the president.

Q: WHAT ARE YOU MOST EXCITED TO LEARN FROM YOUR INTERNSHIP?

A: I’m going to say how to professionally and smoothly interview someone as well as manage my time better

Q: HAVE YOU EVER PLAYED ANY SPORTS?

A: I was a gymnast for 10 years, a cheerleader for four, a swimmer for three and a soccer player for one.

Q: WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION FOR STYLE?

A: Oh everywhere: the mall, a concert, in class, the movies… It gets worse, if I really like the outfit, I will take a picture of it.

Q: IF YOU HAD A MILLION DOLLARS TO DONATE, WHERE WOULD YOU PUT IT?

A: A portion would go to the ALS foundation and the other part would go to homeless youths and getting them a secure, stable and fun place to live.

Q: WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF FASHION ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?

A: “Keep your head, heels and standards high” - Coco Chanel

Q: WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 10 YEARS?

A: In ten years, my family and I (in matching outfits) will be on a private jet to Belize.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING TO DO WHEN YOU HANG OUT WITH YOUR FRIENDS?

A: It sounds geeky, but I love playing charades. Me and my friends will play it for hours on end and sometimes our guy friends will even join in, it’s a blast.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR MORNING RITUAL?

A: I try to do this every morning but sometimes I run a little late, it happens. So I wake up around 7 and I do some morning stretches, really get the blood flow going. I go to my kitchen make myself a nutritious breakfast which always involves an avocado. I then will take Brody for a walk and after we’re done I’ll take my shower. Once I’m finished, I will brush my hair out, put on my favorite face lotion (Ponds) and get dressed for my day.

Natalie was born in San Diego, California and lived there until she was about seven. She soon moved to Gilbert, Arizona and she attended a High School called Highland. She is now a student at the University of Arizona, where she hopes to achieve her “biggest accomplishment” which will be receiving her degree.

 

Q: WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP?

A: That it’s really creative, I really enjoy the creative outlet. Kristin gives me direction and she’s particular but she’s not too crazy. I feel like I can really create my own stuff.

Q: DO YOU HAVE ANY SIBLINGS AND/OR PETS?

A:  I do I have an older brother and a dog named coco she is a Bichon Frise and Shih Tzu mix.

Q: WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF FASHION ADVICE YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?

A: To not care what other people think and don’t be afraid to stand out.

Q: WHERE WOULD YOU GO ON YOUR DREAM VACATION?

A: I really want to go to Capri, Italy or Greece because my roommates Greek.

Q: WHERE ARE YOUR FAVORITE PLACES TO GO SHOPPING?

A: I do a lot of online shopping. I really like Asos, Forever 21, Lulu and Nasty Gal.

Q: IF YOU HAD A MILLION DOLLARS TO DONATE, WHO WOULD YOU DONATE TO?

A: I would donate to the kids, homeless starving children and also helping them get an education.

Audrey grew up in El Dorado Hills in California about one hour away from Lake Tahoe. She attended Oak Ridge high school and graduated with her class of 2016. There she was apart of a multiple clubs and also played for the schools soccer team all four years. Now soon she attends The University of Arizona.

Q: WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT YOUR INTERNSHIP?

A: I like seeing and doing things from this side, I also really enjoy testing things out for them. I have a real passion for fashion.

Q:  WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAREER?

A: My dream job would be to work for a fashion or beauty corporation, like Lancome, Free People, etc.

Q: DO YOU HAVE ANY SIBLINGS AND/OR PETS?

A: I have one older sister and she is attending The University of Georgia. Pets, I have 1 white lab named Josie and 1 cat who is 15  years old named Josie.

Q: WHERE WOULD YOU GO FOR YOUR DREAM VACATION?

A: It would have to be multiple stops like to Paris and Italy and it would need to be a span of a few months. (Last year she vacationed in Brazil)

Q: WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR FREE TIME?

A: I like to hang out with my friends, go shopping, staying active like yoga or going to the gym.

Q: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FOR STYLE?

A: Influencers on social media like fashion bloggers like college fashionista. Media is my biggest influence.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?

A: Getting into Eller College of Management, I love it. The professors and teachers are amazing, they really care about your future and there’s plenty of resources.

Paige is now a senior and on her way to graduating from The University of Arizona. Raised in Chandler, Arizona she attended Hamilton High School and was a dancer/cheerleader. Paige has many accomplishments, her personal greatest one was her involvement with the East Valley Autistic Network.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR DREAM CAREER?

A: I hope to be a buyer or do planning and merchandising for a big corporation.

Q: WHAT MAJOR BRANDS WOULD YOU LIKE TO WORK FOR?

A: Kendra Scott, Revolve and Macy’s. The C.E.O. of Macy’s went to the U of A.

Q:  WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PAST TIME ACTIVITIES?

A: Hanging out with friends, swimming, tanning and going shopping.

Q: WHERE DO YOU FIND YOUR INSPIRATION FOR STYLE?

A: Probably like Pinterest, I don’t know I’ve always kind of grown up with the same style.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL STYLE?

A: I would say it’s more on the girlier side: sandals, rompers, dresses but I switch it up a lot I could also go sweatpants and vans.

Q: WHAT IS THE BEST PIECE OF FASHION ADVICE THAT YOU HAVE EVER RECEIVED?

A: Being confident, it makes the outfit.
